Dr. Nahed Habiballah is a professor at the Graduate College at the Arab American University in Palestine. Her research interests are Sociology of Religion, Political Sociology & Cultural Sociology. She received her PhD in Sociology from the New School for Social Research in New York in 2015. She has worked as a teaching assistant at Parsons School of Design in NY teaching Theories of Culture. She holds two master’s degrees; one in Human Rights & Democracy from the University of Malta (2006) and the second in Women’s Studies from Eastern Michigan University (2004). She published and presented papers, among them: “The Unmaking of Palestinian Jerusalem,” “Women’s Representation in Palestinian Film” and “Emotions, Citizenship and the Nation-State: USA and Israel.”
