SYNOPSIS

Synopsis

This is story of a Palestinian-Syrian man named Abdo who decided that his first destination, after obtaining Dutch citizenship, would be to visit his homeland, Palestine, accompanied by his two daughters. He starts thinking about making a movie about the journey, to be a narrator of the shots and a maker of its events. He would film the space of the new place, which he knew only through the his political and cultural imaginary and awareness as well as his previous political involvement in Palestinian national activism. His dream was to return by entering a liberated land, but, alas, upon his return, he would only enter as a foreign tourist - hiding behind a foreign nationality and a red passport he had just obtained (and hence the title). His only concern was to see the land he’s always dreamed of and for his daughters (Yara and Salma) to realize that they have history and roots. The film is an appeal to the second generation’s children to hold on to their Palestinian identity as well as to the third generation to rediscover theirs.
