Salim Tamari is Professor of Sociology (Emeritus) at Birzeit University, a Research Associate at the Institute for Palestine Studies, as well as an Editor for The Jerusalem Quarterly. He is a rewarded social historian and urbanist with the State of Palestine Prize for Lifetime Achievements in the social sciences and humanities in 2017 and the Middle East Monitor prize for the Great War and the Remaking of Palestine in 2018. He is a visiting professor in the most prestigious universities around the world such as Harvard (Cambridge), Georgetown (Washington) and Columbia (New York) among many others. His next work to be published is titled Camera Palestina: Photography and the Sensual Impulse.
