George Khleifi

Jury / Sunbird Award Competition for Feature-Length Documentary Films 

George Khleifi was born in Nazareth in 1947. He studied filmmaking and production in Brussels, Belgium. He has been the line and executive producer of several Palestinian feature films, the producer, writer and director of the children’s program Share’ Sumsum, and has directed several documentary films as well as Mattab, a mini soap opera, and Abu Youssef’s House, a 64 episodes sitcom. He was the Head of training and production at the Institute of Modern Media at Al Quds University from 1999-2007. Together with Prof. Nurit Gertz, he wrote the book Palestinian Cinema: Landscape, Trauma and Memory (2008).
